1. Project Administration and Management (PAM) Changes are here! When setting up a proposal or award that is interdisciplinary or has multiple PIs, ask the Office of Sponsored Projects to set up 1 project per F&A distribution. This will facilitate the appropriate and expeditious return of F&A at the end of the year. Payroll encumbrances can now be calculated beyond the fiscal year end date! If you enter an accurate end date for the payroll distribution, a corresponding encumbrance will be calculated through the date, even if it crosses fiscal years. This gives a more accurate financial picture of how much budget remains in the payroll budget category. • Coming Soon • A payroll reallocations process and report, reducing the administrative burden of performing in-quarter reallocations • Providing more timely reporting of payroll costs. • New look web management reports for sponsored projects. • Budgets, expenses, and encumbrances displayed in high-level budget categories. • Expanded rows to show account-level information. • F&A expenses will be calculated nightly and appear on web management reports the same day as the direct expense.
