  11. Project Description Client Term Study: Spin-off potential in the field of Advanced Materials Research and evaluation of trends in the field of Advanced Materials. Display of opportunities and market potentials. Partners of the Rheinisch Bergischen Technology-Centre (RBTZ) 1997 First steps to establish the competence centre for Advanced Materials Foundation of an office for technology transfer in the field of Advanced Materials. Organisation of congresses with up to 300 visitors and 35 exhibitors. Ministry of economics, SME, technology and traffic in NRW and partners of the RBTZ 1998-2000 Virtual marketplace An internet based data base for Advanced Materials is built up and established Ministry of economics and labour in NRW (MWA) and partners of the RBTZ 1999- 2001 kMAP Foundation of a knowledge based support software to manage knowledge in SMEs. Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) 2000-2003 Establish and growth of the competence centre for Advanced Materials Enlargement of the offices activities: 83 active members, four trade shows per year, edition of an E-Mail-Newsletters with two news daily from research and industry. Ministry of economics and labour in NRW (MWA) and partners of the RBTZ 2001-2003 Inhouse projects at NeMa: 1997 - 2003

The role of NeMa within STRATINC in NRW • STRATINC in NRW covers the sector of „New Materials“ • Materials have inherently an interdisciplinary character • NRW can be distinguished into several regions • To enable a demand orientated approach it was necessary to identify a “New Materials” leading business • NeMa supports STRATINC with its knowledge about the sector, its SMEs and its engagement to create a successful PSIP in NRW

  17. STRATINC – State of the Art 3/3 • Technical software implementation succeeded • Recruitment of knowledge carriers from the ceramic and plastic sector in NRW • High motivation for participation is extremly important!

Network of Experts for Plastics and Ceramics • Kick-Off Workshop for Bazaar42: 22nd, April 2005 • Moderated workshop session • Objectives: • Attract 10-12 Experts in a first round (SME, research, intermediaries) • Enlarge participants number in the next month up to 80-100 • Option to integrate customer within the virtual network • Participants will be accompanied and trained by NeMa and ZENIT
