  1. EFFICIENCY, SAVINGS & PRODUCTIVITY GAINS

  2. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains The Authority has put the following measures in place in order to save and to increase productivity. Communication Costs • The IVPN was implemented in order to reduce cost of communication. We started to see reduction on the telephone costs. • Soft log system was implemented to prevent staff to exceed the approved limit on official cell phone.

  3. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains Vehicles Expenditure • The Authority’s vehicles have been fitted with tracking system. This system can determine where a vehicle is at any point. Deviations from the routes are reported immediately. • We manage our fuel through Need fleet system which can detect abnormal refuelling. An exceptional report is sent to Regional Managers to investigate any abnormalities.

  4. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains E-Recruitment • Vacant posts are advertised on e-recruitment and this saves time and printing. It also fast tracks decision making. • The e-recruitment system asses the candidates who have applied to determine whether they meet the initial criteria. • The candidates who applied for posts receive their responses through the same system.

  5. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains Engineering Technology • Central monitoring system has been put in place to monitor the whole country and the mobile direction finders can go to the specific area where the problem is being picked up.

  6. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains General Saving Initiatives • Staff is using economy class for travelling. • The Council has changed from business to economy class for local travel, and international travel that is less than five hours. • Common transport is being used when employees are flying to the same destination or attending to the same activity. • Workshops have been streamlined.

  7. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains General Saving Initiatives (continued) • Catering is being done only for specific meetings. • Advertisement in the newspaper is only done for work related matters only. • The Authority has reduced the number of international training by requesting international trainees to come locally so that big number of employees can benefit.

  8. Efficiency Saving and Productivity Gains Work in Progress for increasing saving • The organisation will be implementing the bandwidth optimization system. This system will be able to reduce communication cost of data by eliminating repeaters in data when the same file is being sent. • Implementation of conference call and call centre
