  3. Mentor Program • This program matches adult mentors with 9th and 10th grade students. • The mentors guide the students on a positive path for a better understanding of their school and how important it is to graduate. • The program will begin on October 1st. • Teachers: please forward names of students in 9th and 10th grade who would benefit from this program. • Teachers who are interested in being a mentor are welcome. • This is a very rewarding experience for everyone involved. • Please contact LaVonne Simonides, Mentor Coordinator at ext 2235.

  4. Stay off the LOP List • Are you planning on going to the Homecoming Game or Dance? • Make sure you’re not on the Loss of Privilege list!!  • Serve your detentions and Saturday Schools NOW! • If you have any questions or concerns, please see Mrs. Brewer or Mr. Johnes in the Main Office. 

  5. Senior Class of 2013 • Tests will be given this week to students who have not yet taken or passed the CAHSEE. • English Test – October 1 • Math Test – October 3 • Passes will be given to Period 1 Teachers to distribute to students. • Students should report to their Period 1 class for attendance purposes, get their pass, and report to Room 1103. Students MUST bring a picture ID with them to take the test.

Athletic Events • 10/2 – Girls Tennis 3:30 @ Lincoln • 10/2 – Girls Volleyball 3:30 @ San Diego High • 10/4 – Girls Tennis 3:30 @ Kearny • 10/4 – Cross Country 3:30 vs Kearny @ Morley Field • 10/4 – Freshman Football 4:00 vs Morse • 10/4 – Girls Volleyball 3:30 vs Kearny • 10/5 – JV Football 4:00 @ Morse • 10/5 – Varsity Football 6:30 @ Morse GO CARDINALS!

  7. Clean Campus Classroom Program • Students and Teachers participate in this beautification program by taking turns picking up lunch trash left on the ground. Classes come out during 5th period and are scheduled three times per year. • This program allows us to quickly pick up the trash and return our school grounds to an acceptable appearance.
