  2. Positions Available Resident Assistant (RA) 8 month 9 month 12 month LLC floors Maintenance Assistant (MA) 9 month only Desk Manager (DM) 8 month 9 month

Role of Resident Assistants Attend and engage in training (fall & winter) Administrative responsibilities Be available to residents Develop relationship w/ residents Uphold and enforce policy Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards Be a resource for others Build community through programs, intentional interactions etc. Develop community standards and be a role model Peer mentor
  4. Role of Maintenance Assistants Administrative responsibilities On-call emergency maintenance work requests Serve as a resource for staff and residents Attend fall training (approx. 2 weeks) Be available during daytime hours (10 hrs. /week) Uphold policy and lead by example Routine maintenance/repairs Simple plumbing Filter changes and meter reading Repair/replace locks Escort contractors

Role of Desk Managers Attend and facilitatie training (fall & winter) Administrative responsibilities including desk scheduling, payroll etc. Be available for desk staff Uphold policy Be a role Model Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards Be a resource for staff and residents Supervise desk staff Develop and implement training for desk staff Develop relationships w/ residents, desk staff and fellow paraprofessionals

Remuneration Room: Free single room within a residence hall or apartment Meals: 10 meal per week board plan Stipend: $275 each semester Rewarding experience: Ability to form networks Be involved in future training development for staff & residents Ability to impact future direction of Residential Life Expand knowledge of Higher Education & Learning

Period of Agreement Academic Year: The period of employment is for the 2014-2015 academic year, which includes Fall/Spring training and closing the facilities, which occurs after the last day of final exams. Dates for 2014-2015: Specific dates for arriving and departing are established on a year to year basis. Type of Community: You Have An Opportunity to Preference 8 month, 9 Month or 12 Month Community, but it is not Guaranteed you’ll get your first choice.
  10. * Requirements * GPA: Applicants must have a 2.50 cumulative GPA to apply for the position.  Successful candidates must maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA and a 2.25 spring semester GPA and must maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA and a 2.25 semester GPA for each semester while in the position Judicial history: Be in good disciplinary standing with the University and the Residence Life Office Availability: Be available for the entire academic year (may include breaks) Start and end dates: Be prepared to arrive early before each semester and leave late at the conclusion of each semester Duty Coverage: Provide on-duty coverage whenever your community is open (including holidays, winter session and spring break in 9month communities plus summer in the 12 month community) Additional Activities: Limit employment and extracurricular activities outside of the PP position

Impact of Financial Need If you have financial aid you should make an appointment with a financial aid counselor to discuss the impact if you are selected for the PP position (compensation may affect your award package).   12. Planning to live on campus next year? Current residents: Submit your application and license on-line by the published deadline (typically March 31st). Room/Roommate selection: You should participate in room and roommate selection as if you are not going to be hired so that you have a good back up plan in place. Currently off campus? Complete an online housing application as a commuter.  If you are hired, we will contact you about signing a housing license
