  15. Podcasts,  RSS Feeds  • Podcasts  • Derived from the Apple iPod, Podcasts are audio or video content that can be downloaded to a computer or loaded on to mobile music player such as an mp3 player or iPod. It allows anyone to self-publish a syndicated "radio or video show.  It also allows you to listen to radio or television programs away from home or literally while taking your morning jog. • Using RSS (Real Simple Syndication other can subcribe to your podcasts and schedule automatic downloads.  A podcast isn't a podcast unless it is being subscribed to via RSS. • Teachers have used podcasts and iPod downloads to provide tutorial support for students, welcome new students, enhanced guided reading lessons.  Visit: http://epnweb.org to view how other schools are using podcasts to support student learning. • RSS Feeds • Ever feel over whelmed with the ever growing amount of information on just about every topic you could imagine?  The application that can help you manage it is called Real Simple Syndication or RSS.  This application allows you to "subscribe" to the content on a Website so that the information is sent to you automactically so that you don't have to keep going to that site.  Bill Richardson says, "RSS is a technology that will change your life, if you let it."
