TITLE (88-point type) Name of Presenter (60-point type) Institution or laboratory in which the work was done (40-point ) RESULTS ABSTRACT (48-point type) TABLE, FIGURE or ILLUSTRATION (24-point type) TABLE, FIGURE or ILLUSTRATION (this box is 4.6”W x 2.9”H) TABLE, FIGURE or ILLUSTRATION • Results are the most important part of the poster and generally should occupy the center of the exhibit. The results should consist of a maximum number of illustrations (i.e., graphs, photographs, etc.) which are simple and easy to read, and a minimum of verbiage. Color-coding graphs and figures facilitates ease of interpretation. • Images: • Import TIFF images into PowerPoint.. • Resolution of 300dpi is recommended. • JPEG files can be used but TIFF files provide higher quality printing output. An abstract may be included, but space limitations may dictate that you concentrate on the more important components such as Introduction, Methods, etc. (32-point type) CONCLUSIONS INTRODUCTION • Conclusions should be stated in a clear and especially concise fashion. Generally, this section would be located to the right of the results. Itemization (listing) of conclusions is legitimate and can facilitate comprehension. The Introduction should be moderately brief and to the point so that the reader becomes immediately aware of the purpose of the investigation. It probably should be confined to one paragraph, and should be located at the upper left of the poster. This section often lends itself to the diagrammatic presentation with a minimum of verbiage. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS TABLE, FIGURE or ILLUSTRATION (this box is 12.2”W x 4.65”H) Acknowledgements should recognize funding sources, peer review team members, research assistants, mentor (if not included in author title), and any other individuals or organizations that contributed to completion of the project. -- Leave a minimum of 1/2” margin for all poster sides. DIEBOLD students: use1” margin at bottom of poster!!!!!
