  4. “The Labor Of Love” • Real love finds a way to express itself • God loved this way Jn 3:16 He GAVE • Jesus loved this way Eph 5:25 He GAVE • Jesus, His apostles encourage us to love this way Jn 14:15, 21, 231 Jn 5:3 We should KEEP

  5. “The Labor Of Love” • Our love for God is because of His love for us 1 Jn 4:19 • Therefore, our love should be like His love…ACTIVE

  6. “The Steadfastness Of Hope” • Hope must never be given up • Even when it seems logical to abandon that for which we yearn cp. Rom 4:18 • By definition, “hope” is the last aspiring dream we have as humans • E.g. One needing rescued has “hope” until the final breath

  7. “The Steadfastness Of Hope” • Hope must never be given up • Even when it seems logical to abandon that for which we yearn cp. Rom 4:18 • By definition, “hope” is the last aspiring dream we have as humans • It is the only way the unseen can be “real” to our finite minds Rom 8:23b-25

  8. “The Steadfastness Of Hope” • Hope is our soul’s anchor Heb 6:18-19 • Therefore, we do not “waver” because of the faithfulness of Him who promised Heb 10:23 • Our minds must be engaged with hope “fully fixed on God” 1 Pet 1:13

  9. “The Steadfastness Of Hope” • Through hope, we achieve ultimate blamelessness, holiness Col 1:22-23 • Gained through the Scripture Rom 15:4 • Like faith & love, hope encourages more than just a “mental” effort • Hope causes self-purification 1 Jn 3:3

  10. Conclusion • Paul states these “tasks” are “...in Christ Jesus our Lord” • All blessings, duties are in Him Eph 1:3 • Paul also says these “tasks” are done “…in the presence of God” • He is aware of all we do Heb 4:13

  11. Conclusion • This “trio” is inseparably linked • Faith sees what God has in mind for His people Eph 1:18 2 Cor 5:7 • Love takes over and gives purpose, meaning for all we do cp. 2 Cor. 2:8 • Hope provides the motivation for faithfulness 2 Cor 1:10
