  14. GUIDANCE The help all students receive from parents, teachers, counselors, community members and others to assist with educational, career, and citizenship development.

  15. COUNSELING • The help some students receive from credentialed professionals to overcome personal and social problems that interfere with learning.

  16. ADVOCACY Advocating for systemic change to develop an environment that supports learning for ALL students.

  17. MANAGEMENT “Behind the scenes” tasks necessary for the school counseling program to run smoothly and efficiently.

  18. NON-PROGRAM ACTIVITIES • Those activities which do not: • help students master the guidance standards • help students overcome personal or social problems that interfere with learning

TASK 1 ACTIVITY CROSSWALK ANALYSIS • Exam the Activity Crosswalk which contain our current school counseling activities • Circled activities do not support any of our program goals or are felt to be ineffective in helping us reach our Program Goals. • Do we need an additional Program Goal? • Which activities, if any, should be omitted?

TASK 2 PROGRAM GOAL CROSSWALK ANALYSIS • Exam the Program Goals Crosswalk which contain our Program Goals and the current activities that support each goal. • Circled goals are not effectively supported by our current activities • Should we? •  Increase the effectiveness of a current activity by: • - Adjusting the activity • - Including additional students in the activity •  Add an additional activity to support the goal •  Omit the program goal

  28. CHECK Given who we are and the resources we have, is it realistic to think that we can accomplish the all the activities that we have established for the School Counseling Program?
