Conklin, Jr. Ph.D.International Director, International Undergraduate Research Symposium An Encounter to Advance International Scientific Interaction and Collaboration Between Students, Faculty and the Local Science Community, and to Increase Cultural Understanding and Peace Abstract The sixth International Undergraduate Research Symposium (IURS-6) was hosted by Tarlac State University, Tarlac City, Philippines May 20 to 25, 2013. The program included two days of poster and oral presentations, visits to PhilRice, the Philippine Carabao Research Center, the Geology Center, Fort Santiago and the Oceanarium in Manila Explaining rice research at PhilRice Participants observing cows at the Philippine Carabao Center Program May 20 - Opening of Symposium, tour of campus and Poster session May 21 - Monsanto presentations and Oral sessions May 22 – Oral presentations May 23 – Visits to PhilRice and Philippine Carabao Center May 24 – Visits to Philippine Geology Center, Center for the Arts, and Fort Santiago.
