  2. The Christ Revealed: Matt. 16

Who do People say I am? Who do you say I am?
  3. Jesus’ Goal: To Jerusalem Luke 13:31-35- Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, “Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You.” 32 And He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform healing today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach My goal.’33 Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem. 34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! 35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see Me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

He will cut off the chariot from Ephraim and the warhorse from Jerusalem; and the battle bow shall be cut off, and he shall command peace to the nations; his dominion shall be from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. As for you also, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.”

  9. “Heaven and earth were being joined up-but no longer in the Temple in Jerusalem. The joining place was visible where the healings were taking place, where the party was going on, where forgiveness was happening. In other words the joining place, the overlapping circle, was taking place where Jesus was and in what he was doing.” – NT Wright p. 133 Simply Jesus
