  4. What year did the park become an official National Park and Why? • The park was established on September 12, 1964. It was established because people in Utah saw all these canyons and thought it would be cool to make a park about it so young children could learn.

  5. What type of rocks can be found inside the park? • The types of rock that can be found in the national park is a lot of metemprphic rock and some igneous rock.

  6. What special landforms or features are inside your park? • There is one special landform in canyonlands national park. The special landform is Druid Arch in the Needles district. It is a natrual arch. That was made by eroding rock from the canyons.

  7. How is the land inside the park currently changing? • The land in the park is currently changing because over time all of the canyons are eroding. It is also currently changing when people walk all over the park and erode rock. One last thing of how it erodes is when people currently change the park so they can make it look more classy.

  8. What environmental issues are affecting your park? • There are all these weeds that are growing in between the canyons so it does not make it look good so people go around and spray the weeds so they go away but then the chemicals get all over the canyons so it sometimes ruins them.

  9. How is technology used to help preserve and maintain the park? • Technology is used to preserve the park when they use bull dosers to erode away some of the wasted rock so it does not get in the way. Then they also use chemicals to make the park look really nice.
