  3. ECZEMA Eczema is a “Phlegm – Fire” syndrome accompanied by “pathogenic wind” Commonly used acupuncture points (Chju Lyan, China): GV 12; BL 40, 41, 43, 17, 25; LI 4, 11, 10; GB 34, 41, SP 10, 6; ST 36; HT 5, 7

  4. ATOPIC DERMATITIS • Acupuncture effects in chronic dermatosis: • Reduces local general sensibilization to antigens, and normalizes the reaction of the nervous and immune systems.

ATOPIC DERMATITIS (continued) • Acupuncture effects in chronic dermatosis: • Regulates immune reactions that occur at the level of corticosteroids, peptides and neuromediators, finally resulting in the effect on the cyclic monophosphates. Cyclic monophosphates mostly affect T lymphocytes, which affect all stages of the immune reaction.

ATOPIC DERMATITIS (continued) • Acupuncture effects in chronic dermatosis: • Normalizes immunoglobulin content of blood, T-B lymphocyte ratio, and increases phagocytosis and activity of the cells of the peripheral blood. • Also, positive emotional, motivational, sedative and antidepressive effects of acupuncture have been shown in the patients with atopic dermatitis.
