  2. Goal: A Prescriptive Program For Selected New Small Commercial Construction • Whole-building, integrated measure approach where possible and effective • Deemed or deemed-calculated savings • Commonality across the region • Training for designers, builders & developers

  3. Status • BPA-hosted CNC group reviewed options • Favored approach to piggy-back on work being done by New Buildings Institute • Advanced Building Guidelines (ABv2) • Tailor that work for PNW

  4. Status of NBI Analysis • Three prototype buildings selected • Office: two story building 20,000 sf, four HVAC configurations • Elementary School: 50,000 sf, four HVAC configurations • Retail: One story building, sales & storage areas 15,000 sf, three HVAC configurations • Initial analysis underway • Expect 25,000 DOE2 runs

  5. Status of NBI Analysis • Complex analysis to sort and optimize measures & sequence their application • Expect initial data to review by late January • Will include 3 PNW sites • BPA proceeding with separate NBI contract for PNW-specific analysis & review

  6. Next Steps for RTF • BPA to schedule RTF committee to review initial NBI analysis with NBI lead • Add volunteers to RTF subcommittee • Find DOE2-experienced contractor to help in RTF review

  7. Prescriptive New Building Committee • First wave of volunteers from November • Charlie Grist • Jill Steiner • Ken Eklund • Tim Steele • Seeking additional volunteers
