  1. Science Fair Project Which liquid makes the plant grow faster? Category: Biology By: MandiGrifol

  2. Statement of problem! Will the plant grow faster with Water, Fanta, or Coke?

  3. The Fanta will make the plant grow faster because it has the most sugar. Hypothesis!

  4. Independent- Water, Coke, and Fanta Dependent- How fast it grows by measuring the leaves Constants- Plant, same window, same amount of liquid poured, same amount of sunlight, and same amount of soil. Variables!

  5. The control group is the plant that has the water. Control Group!

  6. 3 seeds for each cup 9 cups 1 liter of water 1 liter of Fanta Materials! • 1 liter of Coke • Window • 1 cup of soil for each cup • Measuring cup

  7. Procedure • Gather Materials • Set up area for experiment • Label the first three groups of cups 1 water, 1 Coke, and 1 Fanta • Label the second three groups of cups 2 water, 2 Coke, and 2 Fanta • Label the third three groups of cups 3 water, 3 Coke, and 3 Fanta • Fill each cup with half a cup of soil • Put three seeds in each cup • Pour a 1\4 of a cup of water into the water cups • Pour a 1\4 of a cup of Coke in the Coke cups • Pour a 1\4 of a cup of Fanta in the Fanta cups • Wait for the results of how many leaves they grow and record data.

  8. Qualitative observations • White cups • Soil • Bottle of Fanta • Bottle of Coke • Bottle of water • Bugs around the plants • A “w” for water • A “f” for Fanta • A “c” for Coke

  9. Quantitative Data

  10. Conclusion Well I tested the plant for 5 days, and it didn’t grow once. My hypothesis was wrong, and would be wrong is I would have picked any other liquid because none of my plants grew. Next time I want to improve by maybe extending the days to about 10 and maybe put it in a different spot because it might have gotten to much sunlight.
