  1. Global Warming by Philo Fransworth

  2. Introduction • Human Activity • Natural Viability • Global Warming Skeptics

  3. Human Activity 7 Billion people contribute to global warming by: • Burning of fossil fuels • Pollution from factory emissions • Harmful chemicals leaching into ground water and the atmosphere • Deforesting from logging and biomass burning

  4. Natural Viability “Climate change is not the fault of man; it’s natures’ way.” • Volcanic activity • Water vapor from earths’ oceans • Methane from the yearly melting of the tundra • El Nino, La Nina weather patterns • Galactic fluff, cosmic rays and noble gasses, etc. • The sun’s natural cycle from birth to death • The earth’s processional wobbles through space

  5. Global Skeptic Believe there is no connection between CO2 emissions and global warming. • Humankind’s carbon output is miniscule • The greenhouse effect has nothing to do with CO2 emissions • Hidden political agendas • Since 1979 the Antarctic sea ice has continued to expand • Winter temperatures have actually fallen 1° since 1957

  6. Conclusion While people continue to speculate over evidence and opinion as to the causes of global warming, climate change is, and has been, an inevitable part of Earth’s history. So far, humans have been adaptable.
