Different Reasons Why People Seek Therapy

If you ever happen to read a psychology journey or hear a psychologist talk, you will come to know that a lot of people seek therapy when they feel that their friends, family, partner or close ones cannot understand them at all. This is usually seen in depression therapy as well, where the patient usually talks about nobody really getting where they are at. It is important that they are reassured that they are valued, and not alone in this journey of internal struggle.

  2. TANU CHOKSI The Feeling Of Not Being Understood If you ever happen to read a psychology journey or hear a psychologist talk, you will come to know that a lot of people seek therapy when they feel that their friends, family, partner or close ones cannot understand them at all. This is usually seen in depression therapy as well, where the patient usually talks about nobody really getting where they are at. It is important that they are reassured that they are valued, and not alone in this journey of internal struggle. http://www.tanuchoksi.in/

  3. TANU CHOKSI Feeling a sense of isolation and loneliness We’ve all been at a place, mentally, where we have felt as though we are isolated and alone in this struggle of ours. Even in couples therapy, many couples talk about how despite being together, they feel isolated in their own thoughts. While sometimes it could be just a phase, it could also be a little overwhelming for many, when you aren’t able to decipher the cause and feeling behind it. taking a step back and seeking therapy will be the first step in this journey. http://www.tanuchoksi.in/

  4. TANU CHOKSI Inability to think positive Let’s face it. No body likes to have negative thoughts all the time. But many of us struggle through this journey to be able to think positively. Just telling ourselves to ‘be positive’ or ‘just be happy’ does not always help. To be able to be happy, you also need to feel happy which becomes an obstacle most of the times. Seeking help from therapy can help you get to the core of the problem and address it little by little. http://www.tanuchoksi.in/

  5. TANU CHOKSI Self-acceptance This reason is generally seen in people who do not seem to relate themselves with the masses, to those who have a hard time accepting their reality. This is prevalent in homosexuals, who could have questions about their identity (as they’ve been conditioned for long that what they feel isn’t totally normal). Here, gay therapy or lesbian couples therapy could really help them not just accept and understand themselves, but also be happy with each other. http://www.tanuchoksi.in/

  6. TANU CHOKSI Addressing self-doubts Every now and then, we do happen to doubt ourselves, our decisions and in a way, it is a good thing, for it only helps us in growing more. However, when these thoughts start to become intrusive, it could harm our mental health even more. Seeking help and therapy at the right time to address these self-doubts is very important so that you can nip the problem in the bud. http://www.tanuchoksi.in/
