  3. Revised WEND Guidelines • Approved by the WENDwg and by IRCC5 • Includes procedures for the RHCs to identify and resolve ENC overlaps • Raises awareness for navigationally significant overlaps • RHC has a large coordinating role • Next steps: • IHO CL for Member State Approval as a Technical Resolution

  4. ENC Issues • RHCs invited to validate the draft coverage audit provided by the UKHO and provide feedback to WEND by 31 December 2013 • Acknowledged that it may not be possible to solve overlaps • Hydrographic Offices should work to make them identical

  6. Definition of a Cartographic Boundary • EAHC proposed that there be definition of a Cartographic Boundary Cartographic Boundary can be defined as an agreed limit to clip overlapping nautical charts or related data between two neighboring countries. The boundary shall not be signified or regarded as a political or jurisdictional boundary. It should be as simple as possible so both data compiler and the data user will be provided with most coherent service possible”. • Agreed in principle by IRCC • IHB to find a harmonized definition for Cartographic Boundary and submit it as a proposal to include it as an appendix to the WEND Guidelines
