  3. Practice: • Practice will be after school until 5:00. Each player must be picked up by 5:30. • Each player will be expected to be at every practice. A missed practice will result in missing one half of the next game, two missed practices will result in not playing the next game. • Athletes must have work-out clothes, shin-guards, cleats & flats for every practice.

  4. Games: • Each athlete will wear the assigned uniform for each game, as well as the appropriate socks (white/blue with 3 stripes, no logo’s). • Team members are expected to have both uniforms, both pairs of socks & sweats for every game. • Athletes must have UIL appropriate shin guards. • Team members are free to go home after school but must be at Rice Field 45 minutes before home games. • On road trips, every team member will ride the bus to the game, and after the game team members may only travel home with their legal guardian. If their legal guardian is not at the game then the athlete must ride home on the bus and be picked up from the school.

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION • YOUR SON WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING: • Two long sleeve & two short sleeve jerseys. • One pair of shorts • One set of sweats • One bag • This equipment is property of MISD and must be returned. Your son will be required to replace any lost or damaged equipment per MISD policy

  6. EQUIPMENT INFORMATION CONTINUED You may purchase the following from us or on your own: Socks: Royal blue (3 white stripes) & White (3 blue strips)- no logos- Cost $15 for both or $8 for one Shin guards: must have the “NOCSAE” label on them- $7

  7. EXPECTATIONS OF PLAYERS • Pass all classes every six weeks • Be on time with all equipment • Be respectful to coaches, administrators, and teachers • Be a good teammate • Focus and Hustle • Be coach-able • Follow all MISD policies • CALL/EMAIL US WHEN HE WILL NOT BE HERE

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THE COACHES • To make decisions that are best for the team/program • To be honest with you and your son • To discipline your son and hold him to a very high standard • To help develop your son physically, mentally, and emotionally • To teach your son life lessons through athletics

  9. PARENT/COACH RELATIONSHIPS AT MIDWAY Understanding and respecting the position of both parents and coaches will help enhance the athletic experience for our athletes.

  10. Appropriate Concerns to Discuss with the Coach • The coach’s interaction with your son • How the coach can help your son become a better athlete and student • Concerns about your son interactions with others

  11. AREAS LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE COACH • TEAM STRATEGY • OTHER ATHLETES OR OTHER SITUATIONS NOT INVOLVING YOUR SON • PLAYING TIME

  12. For a Conference Call Coach Young or Madewell to set up an appointment Conferences may include other coaches or administrators Please do not attempt to confront a coach after a game or practice. Emotions are running too high and will not result in a positive resolution

Parent Code of Conduct • Love and support your child and the team, win or lose • Be realistic about your child’s abilities • Be positive and encouraging at all times • DO NOT COME TO THE FENCE, FIELD, or COURT DURING A GAME TO TALK TO YOUR SON • Respect the coach’s decisions and encourage others to do the same • Realize that we are in this together!

  14. Sport Specific Policies/Procedures • If a practice or game is cancelled, a message will be immediately posted on our website. The teams members will then be notified and allowed to contact a parent. • We will pass out a schedule for January when we return from Christmas break. • We will not have games or practices the day of a High School playoff game.
