  2. Introduction to Cloud Computing • Reference: Innovation Value Institut, eIntroduction to Cloud Computing, White Paper, 2011 January. • Abstract: • Characteristics & models(deployment and delivery) • Benefits and business issues with using the cloud • Early adapters of cloud computing • Characteristics: • Sold on demand; flexible • Managed by the provider • CAPEX to OPEX • Deployment Models: • Public Cloud • Community Cloud • Private Cloud • Hybrid Cloud

  3. Delivery Models

  4. Cloud computing — The business perspective • Reference: Sean M., Zhi Li, Subhajyoti B., Cloud computing — The business perspective[J], Decision Support Systems, 51 (2011), 176–189, 2011. • Abstract: • Analyze cloud computing with SWOT • Stakeholders • Recommendations for practitioners, IS researchers and governmental agencies • Definition: • It is an information technology service model where computing services (both hardware and software) are delivered on-demandto customers over a network in a self-service fashion, independent of device and location. The resourcesrequired to provide the requisite quality-of service levels are shared, dynamically scalable, rapidly provisioned, virtualized and released with minimal service provider interaction. Users pay for the service as an operating expense without incurring any significant initial capital expenditure, with the cloud services employing a metering system that divides the computing resource in appropriate blocks.

  5. Stakeholders: • Consumers • Providers: perform the maintenance and the upgrades on the system, maintaining the software used on the cloud • Enablers: sell products and services that facilitate the delivery, adoption and use of cloud computing, implement an organization-wide consistent IS policy • Regulators: government, international organization Recommendations for IS researcher: 5/10

  6. Cloud Computing Value Chains - Understanding Businesses and Value Creation in the Cloud • Reference: Ashraf B. M., Jörn Altmann, Junseok Hwang, Cloud Computing Value Chains - Understanding Businesses and Value Creation in the Cloud[D], Doctor, Seoul National University, Seoul, South-Korea, 2010 Examining services with the proposed Cloud value chain reference model will help stakeholders in understanding value structures and foresee opportunities, while minimizingcosts

  9. Cloud Supply Chain: A Conceptual Model • Reference: Li Zhou, You Zhu, Yong Lin, Cloud Supply Chain: A Conceptual Model, Implement the planning, deployment, monitoring, evaluation and development by the cloud supply chain management software solutions, such as inventory management, warehouse management and so on. After the information management of cloud computing (mortaring, reporting, SLA, capacity planning and billing), the service aggregator can apply the service or application of the cloud. 9/10
