  2. - Fishes Bony Fishes • A bony fish has jaws, scales, a pocket on each side of the head that holds the gills, and a skeleton made of hard bones.

  3. - Fishes Characteristics of Fishes • Most fishes obtain oxygen through gills. • Gills are special organs that can remove oxygen molecules out of the water. • Fish have a one looped close circulatory system. Their heart contains only two chambers.

  4. Fish Reproduction • Fish reproduce sexually. In most fish the females lay the eggs and the males fertilize them. • Fish hatch from the eggs and have to begin swimming and finding their own food right away!
