  2. What is it? • Employees can organize unions and protect their rights as workers • This Leads to better wages and work environments • Unions: Groups of workers who collectively bargain for rights. • Ex: Higher Wages and better work conditions

  3. Organizing • To form a union, employees must petition the National Labor Relations Board • Then workers hold an election and vote to join a union

  4. Collective Bargaining • Employees appoint representatives to negotiate for better working conditions and higher wages • Representatives work as the middleman between employees and management

  5. Striking • A form of petition by workers • Workers strike to isolate employers and stop business until they reconsider requests of the Union
