  2. Floods Floods effect a lot of people. Floods are horrible for everyone. They kill and destroy houses and really break some peoples heart because of what they lose. Floods happen when a river overflows. This is usually caused by a lot of rain or snow melting. When it overflows it carries something called sediment. This is great for farming so people build a town there so they can take advantage of this. Then the river overflows and usually kills what they grew. There is a couple ways floods are prevented now a days. The main one is probably dams. When it is the wet season they take water out. In the dry season they put that water back in.

  3. Droughts Droughts happen when there is little rain in a certain area. Droughts are devastating to all the people in the area. They restrict water usage and kill crops and wildlife. It is horrible for farming. Some countries depend a lot on farming so droughts can be big deals. Droughts also then weaken the a economy. There is a lot of different beliefs on why/how droughts start. The aboriginals believe that if you start killing koalas there is a drought for ten years which is now being reinforced because there was a drought for ten years. Then some people just believe they are a natural recurring thing. This might be true too because Australia has had droughts on and off for years now. But now a days they have been getting worse and a lot of people believe it is because of global warming
