Application Process Turn in picture of self Write one or two paragraphs about why you want to volunteer there Physical therapy department is hardest to get into because many people want to volunteer there I was in the speech department, which has less volunteers Hours are flexible for the speech department

5. What I Did I helped type up evaluations and sent them to the patients and faxed them to the doctors There were a lot of them because they evaluate patients every 6-months. I helped with the patients I was in the speech department sot here was no equipment to work with There were mostly children getting speech therapy Therapists would play games with them to help keep their attention, while getting them to say words.

6. What I did Continued If you like to work with children then, this would be good for you Sometimes I just watched them give therapy. Especially interesting to see how they worked with children who stuttered I got to go see hippotherapy This is therapy on a horse Riding on the horse is supposed to be therapeutic

7. Benefits This will give me a good reference for graduate school or for future jobs Good people experience Experience in working in an office setting Good to see what kind of disabilities are out there and what kinds of therapy are available Let me see just what a speech pathologist does
