  4. Class Expectations • Show all your thinking/ steps • Communicate your ideas • HW 5 nights/week • My website is updated daily with HW • HW 30 min./night (usually less)

  5. Assessments • Assessments contain current concepts and review of past concepts (concepts from the HW in the sections being assessed). • The day before an assessment, a review will be given which will allow students to know what is on the assessment and ask for help if needed

  6. Grading policy Grading Policy Assessments 75% HW/ Classwork 25% Check grades on Synergy

Help Options • Homework Assistance by appointment at brunch, lunch, before or after school. • Textbook and classwork • Google classroom- posts and videos (TBA) • ebooks.cpm.org students will use a link provided on my site to log in first and then this website there after • Park_gina@cusdk8.org • This is also the best way for you as a parent to contact me with any questions or concerns.

  8. Thinking in Math/Common core standards • Constructed responses • Highlighting and underlining key information in notes and problems • Reflecting on their work • Explaining their thinking and listening to others’ thinking • Focus in class on exploration and collaboration

  9. Kingdoms at Kennedy • Cross grade level “kingdoms” of students. Also includes all staff. • Activities at lunch to earn points for kingdom • Spirit days where students can wear their wristbands and/or their kingdom colors to earn points • PTA has really helped to support
