  4. Final Presentation Each student will conduct a presentation for an authentic audience. Purpose of presentation: defend, solicit, teach, etc. Select an audience: judges, business, mentor, etc. Presentation visual: display board or PPT Topic: Research, product, research/product, etc. Date/Time: Consider AP’s, exams, etc. Location: Where will you present/equipment

Final Presentation Purpose of Presentation/Authentic Audience • Explain the research/product • Mentor(s) worksite • Clients/patients: is this feasible • Solicit for research/organization • Clubs who support the mission of the product • Students/mentors participating or contributing • Educate/teach the audience • Elementary, MS, HS School Students • Mentor/Adviser’s associates • Defend research/product • Science Fair Judges • History Day Judges

Final Presentation Presentation Visual/Topic • Visual Display Board • Small Audience • Lack of technology • Mentor/teachers can reuse the display board • Science Fair Competition • PowerPoint Presentation • Larger audience • Technology is available • Topic: Research/Product • Research/Product are both part of the presentation • Product is the primary topic of the presentation • Are the research topic and product related?

Final Presentation Date/Time/Location • Identify Authentic Audience • Meet with the Adviser/teacher • Explain the purpose of the “Final Presentation” assignment to your Adviser • Discuss best practice for visual: display vs. PPT • Time/Location • Schedule at LEAST one month in advance • AP Exams: May 6-17, 2013 • Senior Exams: May 20-24, 2013 • Final Presentation for seniors by May 3, 2013 • Science Fair Students: MRHS Fair, Ho Co Fair, BRSF

  8. Product Each student will contribute to the internship field. Grading Criteria: • Originality and/or usefulness • Set and achieved objectives and goals • Outcomes reflect familiarity with subject matter • Quality of the outcome • Interest, care, task commitment and overall pride • Communication of product for an audience
