  3. Buddhism Capital Punishment • Since there are so many different Buddhist Groups, there is no definite side for capital punishment. • The first precept of Buddhism does require people to abstain from injuring or killing any living creatures.

  4. Buddhists believe in reincarnation so administering capital punishment would have negative effects on both the offender and the punisher. • Some Buddhist countries still use capital punishment.

  5. Hinduism- The 4 Noble Truths

  6. Suffering is Universal(Dukkha)- suffering is found everywhere, in birth, ageing, pain, sorrow, and grief. • Origin of Suffering(Samudaya)- suffering is the need that leads to renewed existence or the rebirth and it goes along with lust and delight.

  7. Cessation of Suffering(Nirodha)- this is the relinquishing of the cravings for existence. • The Path to Cessation of Suffering(Magga)- this is the truth that leads to Cessation of Suffering which coincides with the Noble Eight Fold-right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfullness, and right concentration.
