Truss Support Pad

Serves to keep Xe tank in place, more than likely two rings will be needed. Three pads are connected to each ring, although only one is shown. The entire system weighs 1 kg.

C-Channel Stiffener

Curved face to rivet or braze directly onto shear panel. Rivets introduce stress risers, while brazing the components together results in a joint 1/3 the strength of the Mg alloy

Entire C-Channel system of 6 C-Channels weighs only 6 kg total.

Shear Paneling

.0005 mm thick sheet of wrought Magnesium Alloy, either riveted together upon overlap, brazed upon overlap, or bonded with adhesive to form a lap joint

Serves as a surface to conduct heat away from the electronics module, to protect all components from incident radiation, as an integration interface for all vital structural components and solar arrays, and weighs 9 kg.
