  2. Graduation Requirements • 125 Credits required to graduate • For promotion. To enter the grade listed you must have the following credits • 10th grade – complete 30 credits • 11th grade – complete 60 credits • 12th grade – complete 90 credits

  3. Graduation Requirements • Subject requirements • English – 20 credits (4 years) • Math – 15 credits (3 years) • History • World History – 5 credits (1 year) • US History – 10 credits (2 years) • Science – 15 credits (3 years) • Required sequences:Physics (grade 9); Chemistry (grade 10) Biology (grade 11)

  4. Graduation Requirements • PE/Health/Driver’s Ed – 5 credits per year • World Languages – 10 credits • Contemporary Business Technology/Freshman Rhetoric – 2.5 credits each (required Freshman year) • Visual and Performing Arts – 5 credits (1 year) • Career Education, Consumer, Family and Life Skills – 5 credits (1 year)

  5. Graduation Requirements • Financial Literacy-2.5 credits (1/2 year) • Pass the HSPA and the Biology exam (BCT). • For highly competitive colleges, NH recommends students have a four year sequence of math, science, social studies and English

  7. Grading • End of class grades • Year long classes: Each marking period will receive a 21.25% weighting and the final exam will receive a 15% weighting • Semester classes: Each marking period will receive a 42.5% weighting and the final exam will receive a 15% weighting

  10. Science Math Connection Science and Math at Northern Highlands are linked for Freshman. .

  11. Science Scope and Sequence After Freshman year, science and math are not linked, and stronger students can take honor science or math without the other one. As you get older, options exist for college credit courses in science. These are not linked with the math

  12. World Languages • 2 years of language required • You do not have to continue the language you started at Brookside • Current teacher recommended your placement • Recommend you start your language as a 9th grader • Fulfills requirement • Electives harder to get into as a Freshman

Varies by teacher and level of class • No effort to coordinate in a high school • School Day 7:45 to 2:36 • 2:45 – Clubs, sports, etc
