  9. Registration Alerts User ID and password letters for the 2013–2014 school year Have been sent to high schools Middle schools will receive theirs today Please contact Harriet Hillson if a password is needed

  10. Registration Alerts Student enrollment data will be uploaded into the EOC Tests system from a file provided by the LDOE. Retest students who need to pass EOC tests for graduation will be uploaded into Retester classes.

  11. Test Preparation Student enrollment data does not include the assignment of testing accommodations. Before student testing begins, accommodations must be entered for all students with special education, section 504, or LEP status. Note: If accommodations are not assigned to students before testing begins, students will not receive the accommodations Large Print or Tests Read Aloud and the correct form will not be assigned for students using braille. This could result in an administrative error.

  12. Testing Accommodations for Students Large Print Online accommodated form Provides a larger type-size that may be adjusted by students Tests Read Aloud Online accommodated form provides audio. Braille Provides students with a braille version of the test. Must be ordered from Pacific Metrics. The test administrator must enter student responses online.

  13. Testing Accommodations for Students (cont’d) Communication Assistance A script is provided to use for signing or cueing the test to students who are hearing-impaired. Script must be ordered from LDOE. Students must test in a small group. Answers Recorded Allowed for students who are unable to use a keyboard or write responses Administered individually to allow the student to dictate or sign their responses Assistive Technology A calculator may be used for the entire Algebra I and Geometry tests by students with calculator accommodation for its use. The online calculator is not provided for all test sessions, so a manual calculator must be available to these students.

  14. Testing Accommodations for Students (cont’d) Extended Time Student must be given sufficient time to respond to every test question. Tests must be completed within scheduled testing dates, including makeup testing dates. Individual/Small Group Administration For students requiring more attention Maximum of 8 students Transferred Answers Allowed for students who are unable to use a keyboard Test administrator must enter responses online exactly as student wrote them.

Technology Recommendations • Prepare computer labs/classrooms carefully and well in advance of the beginning of testing • Make sure all district and school personnel are aware of EOC testing dates and understand the impact of daily tasks on EOC testing • Video streaming • Teleconferencing • Uploading grade files • Running reports • Backing up data

Technology Recommendations (cont’d) If a lab or classroom plans to administer EOC tests on a wireless network, make sure the environments have a strong signal and sufficient bandwidth to provide trouble-free testing. Computers should be tested using the EOC Tests compatibility script. This script allows you to check the configuration of each computer prior to administering the tests.

  26. School-level Test Preparation • Check computers to ensure sound devices are enabled (not muted) and the volume is set at a medium level. • Ensure that lab/classroom computers are configured to minimize cheating. • Use visual barriers to prevent students from viewing other students’ computer screens. • Locate computers so a student cannot view another student’s monitor from behind. • Ensure that each lab/classroom has a place to post important information. • The daily access code • Instructions for how to properly exit a test session • Relocate power strips in the labs/classrooms so they cannot be easily “tripped” by students kicking them during testing.

Test Design Overview Louisiana Believes Assessment Guidance 2013-2014 • Test Specifications, Structure, Content Assessed English 2, English 3, Algebra, and Geometry • Measure CCSS • ELA writing prompt now scored for Conventions • Potential for ELA scores to be delayed for 2-4 days—not weeks as in December—due to Conventions scoring and a more uniform volume of responses scored each day • Math session 2 now contains two 4-point items rather than the 2-point items of previous years

Test Design Overview Louisiana Believes Biology and US History • Measure GLEs • Session 2 now contains Tasks (6-point items) rather than the 2-point items of previous years • Tasks are based on several stimulus materials. Students are asked to synthesize their content knowledge with the information provided to answer 2 multiple-choice items and a 4-point extended-response item. • Radio buttons are new for May 2014 • Task sessions, like the English Writing session, must be completed on the day they are started.

  31. Test Design Overview Louisiana Believes US History • Session 0 is a field test Task session. Please do not share this is a field test task with students—rather they should take the test seriously and do their best. • TWO Extended-Response Checklists. One is to be used with Session 0, the other with Session 2. The Checklists are clearly labeled and available on the EOC website for downloading.

  33. Student- and Class-level Reports Reports available to Teachers and STCs during the testing window STCs have access to reports for their school only. Teachers have access to reports for their students only. Reports are available to teachers during a test administration and for approximately two weeks after the administration ends.

  34. Class- and School-level Reports Reports available to DTCs during the testing window DTCs have access to score files for all schools in their district. A Daily Administration Report is available to DTCs during the registration and testing windows. The report provides the number of students registered, the number of students that have started and completed testing, and the number of students with reportable scores.

  35. Student-, Class-, and School-level Reports Reports available after the testing window These reports are administration-specific and can be accessed from the DTC and STC menus under Reports–Previous Administrations.

  36. District-level Report One additional district-level report is available to DTCs after the testing window. This report is administration-specific and can be accessed from the DTC menu under Reports–Previous Administrations. Contains student-level demographic information, and scores and achievement levels for all tests with standards-based reports. This report is available indefinitely.

  37. School-level Summary Reports Summary reports are available year round – provide combined data from the December and May administrations. Can be accessed from the DTC and STC menus under Reports–Previous Administrations. Reports for the 2013–2014 school year will be available in July 2014

  38. District-level Summary Reports Provide combined data from the December and May administrations. Reports are school-year summaries and can be accessed from the DTC menu under Reports–Previous Administrations. Reports for the 2013–2014 school year will be available in July 2014.

  39. Student Test History DTCs and STCs can search and display a student’s test history across EOC operational administrations. DTCs can search across all districts. STCs can search within their school. DTCs can download a district history data file that contains student test histories associated with the district, including current and past students

EOC Rescore Process Parents and students may request the rescoring of an EOC test if the test is high stakes (counts as part of the student’s graduation requirements), and the student’s scale score is within 10 points of the Fair achievement level. Rescores may be requested by June 2, 2014 in order to receive by June administration with a final deadline of June 23, 2014 Additional information about the Rescore Process, and the Request for Rescore form can be found on the EOC Tests home page under Test Coordinator Materials tab.

ACT Student Accountability Codes • Match/No Match ACT file should be used to track accountability codes; included all 11th and 12th grade students required to take the ACT test • ACT Test Supervisor should provide the codes to the EOC School Test Coordinator for entry into the system Louisiana Believes
