  4. Practicing Using Edmodo:1. Post a note on our Edmodo group page, answering the following question: Have you read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer before? If yes, did you like it? Why or why not? If no, what have you heard about the novel?

  5. Today’s Directions: • After reading chapters one and two, pick two of the following questions to answer on our Tom Sawyer Discussion Edmodo page. • What is a good character trait for Tom Sawyer? Why? • How is the setting of this novel different from the setting of your life? What would one pro and one con be to live in St. Petersburg in 1836? • Do you think Tom Sawyer was wrong to trick the boys into whitewashing the fence for him? Why or why not? • Make sure you post a new note for each answer, and make sure your answers are in complete sentences. • After you have answered two questions, comment on as many classmate’s answers as you can, saying whether you agree with his/her thoughts or not and why.

  6. Closure: How did Edmodo help you discuss the first chapter of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer? Did you like posting your answers rather than discussing aloud? Why or why not?
