  25. Packing • You will walking around cities shopping and sightseeing. You should pack sensible and clothes for both warm and cold weather. • All the town and cities we will visit in Yunnan Province are at a high altitude, so will be cold at night. • Shanghai might be quite hot and humid.

Packing • Pack reasonably nice clothes which are comfortable and will not show the dirt too much. • You can hand wash some of your clothes if you want. • Washing kit • Basic first aid kit/medication bag • Inform us about any medical issues you have or any health related incidents which happen on the trip.

  27. Shopping • There will be lots of opportunities for shopping. Don’t spend all your money at once. The best places for buying gifts and souvenirs will probably be Dali and Lijiang

  28. Money • You can buy Yuan in Jersey, but unless you buy a lot, you will not get a much better rate than at Heathrow • You will need money to buy meals in airports, but not for any other meals. • Bring money for snacks and drinks • The rest is for souvenirs and gifts. • £80-150 should be plenty

  30. Using our Mandaringetting the most out of the trip • We will expect you to use your language skills. You will need to haggle and bargain in local markets and tourist markets. • The Chinese people you meet will be delighted to hear you speaking their language.

  31. Staying in touch • Contact us through the school. • Mr Howarth will have all of the teachers mobile numbers. • Email is probably the best way to stay in touch with family. Facebook and twitter are blocked in China
