  1. Dynamic Youth for Social Transformation/Change Presented by: Gustav Wilson 25 September 2010

  2. “Today's youth is disgusted with today's politics, education and social atmosphere. They are facing the problem of unemployment and hence turning towards crime. Everybody is using the youth's energy for a destructive purpose than for constructive purpose. Today's youth is unhappy, unsatisfied, disgusted and is in a pathetic condition. With this background they are entering the 21st century.” Rama Dukle (Author of the Book “Ghandi”) Introduction

  3. Social transformation is the process by which an individualalters the socially ascribed social status of their parents into a socially achieved status for themselves. However another definition refers to large scale social change as in cultural reforms or transformations. The first occurs with the individual andthe second with the social system. Social transformation in this context requires a shift in collective consciousness of a society - local, state, national or global - so that reality is refined by consensus. Scientific discoveries have triggered many social transformations throughout our history as have religious and royal edicts. What is Social Transformation / Change?

Changes attitudes, behaviors, laws, policies and institutions to better reflect the values of inclusion, fairness, diversity and opportunity. Insists on accountability and responsiveness among institutions, including the government, large corporations, universities and other entities whose policies and actions profoundly affect the living conditions of individuals and communities, whether locally, nationally, or internationally. Expands the meaning and practice of "democracy" by involving those closest to social problems in determining their solutions. What is Social Transformation / Change?
