European Human Rights Moot Court Competition About the Competition • Simulation of the European Court of Human Rights concerning the violation of the European Convention on Human Rights • Only english MCC on Human Rights europe wide • In cooperation with the Council of Europe • 2 rounds – written pre-rounds and final oral round • Open to all ELSA and CoE Member Countries • Teams: 2 – 4 members per team • Submission for Applicant and Respondent • Oral Pleading for both sides • Only 2 members are allowed to plead

European Human Rights Moot Court Competition What was going on? • Due to close cooperation with CoE establishment HRMCC • Drafting Rules, Guidelines, Case, Registration, budget • Creating new website • Launching on 15th of July • Sponsors hunt beginning of August • Contacting possible Judges for the Jury • Many requests from teams and interested students • Already 10 registered teams! • Searching for acoommodation, lunch, dinner, opening ceremony, award ceremony with CoE

European Human Rights Moot Court Competition The European Final • 24th until 28th of February 2013 • At the Council of Europe and • the European Court of Human Rights • 16 best qualified teams • Participation Fee for Accommodation, transport, meals, venue, welcome reception, award ceremony • „The Council of Europe prize“ – a traineeship at the European Court of Human Rights for 1 month
