  1. 3rd International SensAge Conference: 23 June 2014 Promoting Active Participation By Ageing People with Sensory Disabilities Centre d’Expertise National des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication pour l’autonomie National ICT Center of Expertise for Autonomy and Health Léna, an open-innovation ecosystem

  2. CENTICH brings together research labs, manufacturers, SMEs as well as user associations in order to accelerate the development and the use of ICT to increase independence among elderly people and people with disabilities. Funded by the CaisseNationale de Santé pour l’Autonomie (National Health Fund for Autonomy), it relies on professional doctors (ENT, ophthalmologists, geriatric specialists and neurologists), compensation professionals (occupational therapists, ergonomists), physical therapists (orthoptists, speech specialists and psychologists) and education professionals (educators and teachers) working within the MutualitéFrançaise Anjou Mayenne.

  3. The actions carried out by CENTICH concerning Assistive Technologies are for example the technical assistance lending “plateforme” called « TECHNICOTHEQUE », the living laboratory “Lena”, the Hearing impairments or Low Vision Evaluation and Rehabilitation Centers, the e-care monitoring of patients with heart failure…and IcityForAll.

  4. I’CityForAll project aims at enhancing the sense of security and self-confidence of presbyacousic persons whose hearing degradation increases with age. Two mobility environments are considered: public confined spaces and urban space. The ICT solutions consist of intelligent loudspeakers for better intelligibility of vocal messages in public confined spaces and a system embedded in vehicles for better localization of urban sound alarm like ambulances, police cars, fire trucks, etc., as the presbycusis alters perception of distance and direction of sound source.

  5. LENA an upgradable, adaptable and clever housing incorporating the communication and information technologies dedicated to autonomy and designed within a broader housing complex for older people. Léna, an open-innovation ecosystem

  6. The LENAwelcomes manufacturers and users in order to: • Integrate, test, assess and develop the interoperability of the technologies dedicated to autonomy and health designed for industrial and research purposes; • Welcome, inform and advice the user to help him be autonomous in his daily life and housing for a better integration, innovation and dissemination of an adapted technology; • Provide training about an adapted, upgradable and intergenerational housing and develop the use of these technologies dedicated to autonomy and health.

  7. This first « living lab » brings together 40 manufacturers, real estate developers, research labs and the University Hospital Center in order to, particularly; plan hospitalization exits and ‘in home’ stays of the elderly suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

  8. We are now working for the second Léna ! This new “LivingLab”, localized in the city Of Saumur will be linked with the hospital and the nursing mutuality service. It aims is to prepare the home returning for elderly patient after hospitalization. Léna Saumur is a transition apartment giving the opportunity to the target group to test and use in real condition assistive technologies for their autonomy and health at home.
