Background • At CAeM XIII – 2006, the session was invited to review the structure of the Commission, and agree on modifications or a new structure which will enable the effective and efficient delivery of the proposed work programme. • New structure included the formation of Expert Teams. • Education and Training (ET/ET). • New Terminal Forecast (ET/NTF). • Customer Relations (ET/CR).

Meteorological Services in the Terminal Area (ET/MSTA) Stephanie Desbois (France) – Chair. Governance and Parthnership (ET/GP) Cynthia Abelman (USA) – Chair. Task Teams: Competency Assesment Toolkit (TT/CAT) Kent Johnson (Canada) – Chair. MSTA User Needs (TT/MSTA UN) Ian Lisk (UK) – Chair. Implementation and Coordination Team (ICT) – Chairs of 3 Expert Teams. Inter-Programme Coordination Team on Space Weather (ICTSW).

ET/ET Background • 1st Meeting – Pretoria, South Africa 7 -10 April 2008. • 2nd Meeting – Bridgetown, Barbados 30th November to 4th December 2009. ► Sign off on the final text on the top level AMP Competency Standards which went forward at CAeM XIV for endorsement and final agreement at EC-LXII. ► Make significant progress on the development of the Secondary Level AMP Competency assessment guidance (now up to V18). ► Provide preliminary guidance on the content of the 2010-2014 ET/ET Strategy and Work-plan.

  6. Achievements ET/ET March – July 2010. • 1st Meeting via Tele-conference 22nd April 2010. Introductions, ET/ET linkages with TT-CAT, Reviewed our Work-Plan 2010/2014, Discussed 1st and 2nd Level AMP Competence descriptions. • 2nd Meeting via Tele-conference 24th June 2010. Discussed outcomes of 1st meeting TT-CAT Bucharest – Romania 10 – 14th May 2010. Plan for our 1st face-to-face meeting. Conduct wide ranging discussion utilizing CAeM XIV e-forum and blog.

  7. ET/ET Priorities 2010- 2014. • Produce an agreed version of 2nd Level AMP Competency Assessment Descriptions. • Collaborate with WMO-ETR to facilitate compliance with AMP qualification and competency requirements. • Ongoing Development of the http://www.caem.wmo.int/moodlewebsite. - link with EUMETCAL training materials and resources. • Strengthening of links with the aviation meteorological training resources available through collaboration with the COMET Programme. • Explore the potential for forecasting applications of AMDAR (Aircraft Data Meteorological Relay) and TAMDAR (Tropospheric Airborne Meteorological Data Reporting)data and review AMDAR/TAMDAR related case studies – include on our website. • Obtain International Aeronautical Meteorological Training materials and resources for review and possible inclusion on our website (Core members Regional Assignments). • QMS (Nov 2012) and the need to include additional QMS training and best practice material on our website.
