  10. 10 - 10 - 50Basic Plan For The Empowerment Of TheAfrican (Black) Community Worldwide! 10 /:Each person of African descent who would consider himself or herself seriously concerned  about the plight of African (Black)  people must commit a minimum of  ten (10) hours each month to a community based organization or institution concerned with the uplift and improvement of our people. This means dedicating yourself to the excellent performance of your chosen organization or institution and helping to make your chosen organization or institution the very best that it can be. – We must build strong organizations and institutions--- none of us are justified sitting on the sideline complaining about what others are not doing. 10 /:Commit a minimum of $10 every month to help fund your chosen organization or institution. Make a conscious effort to choose an organization or institution that needs your help. 50 /:Transfer or redirect, at a minimum, an additional $50 from your monthly budget to support African (Black) owned and operated businesses. $50 a month should not be the total you spend, but use your creativity to find ways to spend an additional $50 each month. – Make it known to these businesses that you support 10-10-50. Demand that they give good service and that they reinvest in our community.

  11. + IMANI (Faith): Have faith that proper leadership and systems are being developed to facilitate the necessary cooperation between our organizations and institutions. – A truly dynamic and functional unity is required among our people, and that is what we are building. Hosted by: African Community Centers for Unity and Self-Determination, Inc.Office Phone: (404) 344-5454     Sponsored locally by:*Your organization or Business “Be Down With 10-10-50” Register at www.10-10-50.org________________________________________________

  12. 2. DECISION UNITY COUNCIL • Elected By COMMUNITY • Twelve Members • Govern Center Operations • Voice On Behalf Of Community • Identify factors that are positive to the development and well-being of our people and encourage broad support of these factors. • Identify factors that are negative to the development and well-being of our people and encourage broad opposition to these factors. • Identify areas of need that require new initiatives and encourage development and support • METHOD- Voice & Recommend

  13. 3. ACTION • Awareness • Decision Guidance Voice & Recommend Aim: To stimulate and encourage individuals and organizations to respect each other, cooperate with each other, and act to promote and protect the vital interest of our community and of our people. The action anticipated by this process Is “always through” individuals and organizations in our community, and “never through” the Centers themselves The African Community Centers will build no institutions and run no programs other than iteself. The only tool of the Center is Information. THE POWER IS IN OUR CORRECT USE OF OUR SYSTEM

  17. THIS SYSTEM OF FUNCTIONAL UNITY IS THE MISSING ELEMENT IN OUR STRUGGLE X African Community Centers • The Proper tool or Institution for building the Unity we Need • We Need Your Help to Build and Maintain the CENTERS • Together, WE are the Foundation and the Structure. • The Centers Will Naturally Build and Maintain “Functional Unity”
