  1. Fort Irwin Angel Tree Program 2013 What is an Angel Tree? A generous “Angel” from the community will select an ornament from one of the three trees located on Fort Irwin that is registered to a child in need, promising they will provide a smile on Christmas day for that child. How is a Child Registered for an Ornament? Sponsors can register their child (ages 12 & under) for an ornament through their company or troop by obtaining an Angel Tree application from their 1SG or Commander. The application requires the approval and signature of the sponsor’s 1SG or Commander. All forms will be turned in to the Army Community Service (ACS) at Bldg 1317, ATTN: Bob Lucas by close of business on 12 Nov 2013 (Tuesday). When and Where Will the Angel Trees Be Located? Beginning November 21st, 2013 (Thursday), Angel Trees will be located at the Fort Irwin Commissary, the Fort Irwin PX/Exchange, and Main Post Chapel. Any Family Member, Soldier, DA Civilian or Contractor wishing to be “Angels” can select ornament(s) from the trees. Once an ornament is selected by a “Angel”, he/she will purchase new items and bring the unwrapped items and Ornament Tag to ACS in Building 1317 (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. All gifts must be dropped off no later than December 9th,2013 (Monday). When Will the Angel Tree Toys Be Given Out? In order to protect the anonymity of the recipients the company/troop 1SGs will collect the pre-sorted gifts for the families in their unit from ACS, Bldg 1317 between December 17th through 20th, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you have questions concerning the Angel Tree Program, please call (760) 380-3513 or e-mail Bob Lucas, robert.c.lucas.civ@mail.mil. BE AN ANGEL THIS YEAR AND HELP US MAKE A CHILD’S WISH COME TRUE!
