Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA) • Enacted August 2, 2004 • Requires FDA to promulgate a regulation to define and permit use of the term “gluten-free” • Congressional findings indicate that the purpose of regulation is to assist consumers with celiac disease to make appropriate food choices
