  9. Questions & Analysis

  10. Managerial Economic Issues • Q1:Why is per credit tuition fee for each program quite different? What pricing strategy does NCCU apply? Because the school uses direct segment price discrimination to charge different tuition rates for each program. For the segment with higher average income, the school tends to charges a higher tuition rate. For example, since EMBA students have steady income than those in other programs, the school charges higher tuition rates. • Q2 : Is there positive or negative externality that international students bring to the IMBA program or the school? There is positive externalities that international students bring to the IMBA program as well as the school. Because international students can share knowledge and experience from different point of view, what’s more, they can increase the visibility of NCCU to different countries.

  11. Managerial Economic Issues • Q3 : • (1) If you really need to get a business master degree in NCCU, is IMBA a substitute of EMBA ? • (2) Is studying in NCCU IMBA a substitute of studying MBA abroad for local applicants? Substitute : A product or service that satisfies the need of a consumer that another product or service fulfills. Might be an imperfect substitute EMBA Or Study Overseas Substitute

  12. Open Questions • For international students, will you still choose NCCU IMBA without ICDF scholarships? • For local students, will you still choose NCCU IMBA if admitted to NTU GMBA and could study part time with manageable class schedules?

  13. Managerial Economic QUESTION FOR YOU • Are MBA (MBA/IMBA/EMBA) programs normal or luxury products
