Why Engineering with Business? • The ME (Engineering with Business) is designed to produce fully qualified engineers who have a particular interest in and understanding of the business context within which engineers usually operate. • All businesses comprise 3 elements: • Finance – who will fund me? • Marketing – who will buy? • Operations – how do I produce and deliver? • Organizations need engineers to • Innovate to design new products and services • Manage and optimise processes and minimise waste • Analyse the operations and identify and implement continuous improvement • Develop feasible financial plans, and manage capital and operational spending • Match technology innovation to customer requirements
