  2. Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 • The FQPA changed the way the EPA regulates pesticides. This act amended the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act along with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. • Environmental Issues Affected: • Stricter safety protection for infants and children. • Regulating safety/health based standards for pesticides • Development and maintenance of effective crop protection tools • Re-evaluation of pesticide registrations and tolerances • Improvements in human health
