This festivalis observed to commemorate the ancient patriotic poet, Qu Yuan. Zongzi is a special food for this festival. It is a pyramid-shaped dumpling made of glutinous rice in bamboo leaves. There are various kinds of Zongzi, with both sweet and saltyfillings. Dragon Boat Racing is another special activity on the very day. Chinese people will wrap and eat Zongzi and row dragon boats on the same day every year. These traditional customs remind them of Qu Yuan and inspire them to love their motherland.
