Hinduism • The most major religion in the world. • Unlike any other religion in the world. • Always been inclusive then exclusive. • Belief in the transmigration souls. • Caste system of India is another characteristic. • Worshiped in temples. • Main concern became released from the cycle of birth and death. • Asceticism grew rapidly and has remained a prominent feature.

Judaism • One of the major monotheistic religions of the world. • Jewish people were dispersed throughout the world. • Jewish revolts against Rome in the 1st and 2nd centuries. • Jewish people had no homeland. • Judaism was not found in the Hebrew Bible. • Jews would get together and hear the scriptures. • Provide guidance for the Jewish people was the party of rabbis. • AD70 ended Jewish opposition 60 years later.

  8. Buddhism • One of the great Asian religions. • Dates back to the ancient times. • Is the world’s fourth- largest religion. • Estimated 360 million Buddhists in the world. • Buddha taught the four noble truths. • A Buddhist sect in Tibet.
