Dr. Seuss

  • This American author was born in 1904 as Theodor Seuss Geisel in Massachussets.

  • An artist at heart, he pursued different avenues before

    being asked to produce children’s books.

  • One of his first books, A Cat in the Hat, written in 1957.

  • He created his own writing style, with rimes and

    Social consciousness that changed

    Children’s books.

Robert munsch

Robert Munsch

  • Born in 1945 in Pennsylvania, Munsch says he was not very good in school !

  • He worked in daycare centers, where he started to compose short stories for the kids.

  • After many people suggested he should publish his stories, he finally listened !

    This was 1971 !

  • By that time, he had moved to Canada

    ( Ontario ) to work.

  • Her most famous characters are from the

    Peter Rabbit Collection, which we can find in many

Alan Alexander Milne

  • Milne is most famous for his Pooh books about a boy named Christopher Robin, after his son, and various characters inspired by his son's stuffed animals, most notably the bear named Winnie-the-Pooh( 1926 ).

  • The name of the character came from a Canadianblack bearnamed Winnie(after Winnipeg), that was used as a military mascot in World War I, and left to London Zoo after the war.

  • E. H. Shepardillustrated the original Pooh books, using his own son's teddy, Growler ("a magnificent bear"), as the model.

  • Ownership of the Pooh Empire passed from A A Milne,

  • to Stephen Slesinger ( a comic strip mogal ) and his family

  • and finally, to the Disney corporation.
