Reporting & Supervision n = 64 respondents reported no direct supervisory responsibility The rest (n = 65) reported supervising a average number of 2 staff members, with a range of 1- 8 staff members Average number of residents respondent was responsible for was 29; range 7 -150 Some respondents noted they supported rotators or residents from other programs

  13. Salary • Most (69%) of respondents indicated they are salaried; the remaining proportion (31%) indicated they are paid hourly • Salaries varied widely: • Mean: $50,852 (SD = $14,207) • Median: $49,000 • Range: > $75,000

  14. Salary Salaried respondents reported statistically significantly higher incomes than non-salaried respondents ($53,644 vs. $44,697; t = 3.398, p < .01). There was a statistically significant relationship between salary and resident responsibility (r = .315, p <.01) and salary and years of experience (r = .236, p <.01) Also, as the number of direct reports increased, so did respondent salary (r = .390, p < .01)

  18. Discussion/ConclusionsWhere we were and how far have we come. How do we prepare for the future? Recognition is essential for change! Do we need to take this information to ACGME? Do we make a statement to HR?
