  2. Do Now • How do you think a news story is conveyed best on screen? Have you noticed anything about the order of the news stories? Reminder: Homework due tomorrow…write down the order of the news stories you see. What stories are reported in an effective manner? What else do you notice?

SWBAT compare and contrast news packages • DO NOW: MORE TERMS TO ADD TO BROADCAST LINGO Package: A report from a correspondent that contains a sound bite inserted between the introduction and the epilogue (usually inserted after the reporter's second or third sentence). These need an in-studio lead for the anchor Rundown: The order of stories that appear in a show

SOTs. • What was the wording of the voice-overs? • What was the most effective B-Roll used? • How did the newscaster present themselves? • What were the graphics used? • What station do you think would be more sensational about a story? What story would that be??

  7. COMPARE TO LOCAL NEWSPAPERS • Let’s look and see what the major news stories are today in the local papers. • How is the coverage different from seeing it on tv? • Give me a story that stands out and we’ll watch it on different news stations to see how it is presented.
