  9. ASA LEAGUE ONLY • WE ARE NO LONGER REGISTERING TEAMS ASA AND USSSA. • REASON: THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY USSSA TOURNAMENTS HERE FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS AND NONE SCHEDULED THIS YEAR. Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  10. RULE CHANGES • END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT • NEW RAINOUT POLICY Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  11. COED LEAGUES Coed league may start with 9 players with the 10th batting spot being an out. Of the 9 players, at least 4 must be of one gender Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  12. COED LEAGUES If only three players are of one gender then, you may have only 9 defensive players, only nine batters with the 10th batting spot being an out and each inning starts with one out. Some innings teams may have two automatic outs. Three batters of the same gender cannot bat consecutively Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  13. COED LEAGUES REASON FOR CHANGE: IN PRIOR YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN FORFEITS DUE TO LACK OF FEMALE PLAYERS AT GAME. EVEN THOUGH THE PENALTY IS SEVERE, YOU CAN STILL PLAY WITH THREE FEMALES RATHER THAT TAKE AN AUTOMATIC LOSS DUE TO FORFIET. THE SEVERE PENALTY ALSO DISCOURAGES TEAMS FROM ROUTINELY HAVING JUST 3 FEMALES. Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  14. COED LEAGUES • DEFENSIVE POSITIONING: No restrictions • DEFENSIVE RESTRICTIONS: • No defensive players (except the pitcher and catcher) may be closer to home plate than the base line until the ball is hit. No outfield defensive players may be within ten yards of the infield dirt until the ball is hit. PENALTY: The batter automatically gets first base even if the ball is hit foul. If there are any runners on base, they will advance one base. Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  15. COED LEAGUES • ALL INFIELD DEFENSIVE POSITIONING AND RESTRICTIONS STILL APPLY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THERE ARE 9 OR 10 PLAYERS Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks

  16. MEN’S LEAGUES • ANY TIME A TEAMS PLAYS WITH LESS THAN 10 PLAYERS. THERE IS AN OUT IN THE SPOT BEFORE THE TOP OF THE LINE-UP COMES TO BAT. • EXAMPLE: • 9 PLAYERS- 10TH SPOT IS AN OUT • 8 PLAYERS- 9TH SPOT IS AN OUT Lake Charles Dept. of Recreation and Parks
