What i thought about the job opportunity

What I thought About the Job Opportunity…

I took a brief moment and considered my past internship experience and saw a pattern. Each year I skipped around, as far as grade level was concerned, attempting what I thought to be challenging. After Having no interest in teaching younger children, for fear becoming “2nd mommy” if you will, I decided to stand up to the challenge and found out I actually loved teaching younger children. The next year I focused on middle school interning in a visual arts program so I would also get the challenge of teaching creativity, I found that I enjoyed it and did well but it wasn’t totally fulfilling to me. I am still looking for my voice as a teacher as well as my niche or area where I feel I respond to most affectively, and it is because of this I feel such a connection and drive to intern at your school. In order to grow as an educator, thinker, and human being I must expose my self to all different types of life, expanding my horizons; heightening sensitivity and over all awareness.

•Worked with Mrs.Hughes at the neighboring elementary school conducting day-to-day classroom activities for multiple grade levels

•Created lesson plans and activities for 8th grade students

•Conducted large scale mural projects with students

•Provided support for children struggling with the curriculum

•Assembled three gallery shows

•Organized and kept up the classroom

•Matted and hung different size art works for gallery shows
