Introduction • An Alcohol Policy Survey has been conducted annually since 2004 on 500 Tampa Bay residents by Survey USA to determine community norms and to gage public support of existing and proposed alcohol policies • The survey results will be used to inform the community, government officials, and legislators about public support for new alcohol policies and regulations

  4. How concerned are you about underage drinking in Florida?

  5. How big of a problem do you think underage drinking is at local bars?

  6. Do you think the age to get into Florida bars and clubs should be raised from 18 to 21?

  7. How concerned are you about drunk driving by people of all ages in Florida?

  8. How do you feel about people consuming alcoholic beverages before driving?

  9. There is currently adequate law enforcement of drunk drivers in my local area

  10. Do you think it is appropriate for bars and other establishments to advertise “all you can drink” specials at a fixed price?

  11. Do you think it is appropriate to allow the advertising of alcohol to underage students on college campuses?

  12. Do you think bars should change the closing time from 3:00 am to 2:00 am? (2006 only)

  13. Do you agree that Florida should have a keg registration law? (2006 only)

  14. Summary • For the past three years, there have been consistent trends in support for the following: - raising the age to enter bars to 21 years old - increased law enforcement - restricting advertising of specials • There have been consistent concerns about -underage drinking -drinking and driving • Survey results will be used to: - support alcohol law enforcement efforts - create new alcohol policies
